David Graeber

(*1961) ist Ethnologe und Anarchist. Bis 2007 war er Professor für Ethnologie an der Yale University. Seit 2007 lehrt er am Goldsmiths College der University of London. Ende 2013 übernimmt er eine Professur an der LSE -London School of Economics. Graeber ist ein bekannter sozialer und politischer Aktivist, der an den Protesten des Weltwirtschaftsforums in New York City (2002) teilnahm. Darüber hinaus ist er Mitglied der Gewerkschaft Industrial Workers of the World und der Internationalen Organisation für eine Partizipatorische Gesellschaft. 2012 erschien sein vieldiskutiertes Buch Schulden: Die ersten 500 Jahre (Debt. The First 5000 Years, 2011).
