Smadar Dreyfus

(*1963) is a London based Israeli artist. Examining a socio-political context and how it is reflected in everyday life, her practice investigates the role of the voice in the constitution of contested public spaces. She uses real life recordings and architectural structures designed to choreograph viewers in the space and to explore conditions of translation. Solo exhibitions include BDF3 Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Magasin 3, Stockholm, Extra City, Antwerpen, IKON Birmingham. Group exhibitions include The 2011 Folkestone Triennial, UK, S.M.A.K. Gent, Mediations biennial, Poznan, MUSAC Leon, Spain, and the 9th Istanbul Biennial.
